Mbosso’s EP: An Emotional and Reflective Musical Journey
Tanzanian music sensation, Mbosso, has once again proven why he remains a defining voice in Bongo Flava with the release of his latest EP, Room Number 3. Blending raw emotion, timeless melodies and powerful storytelling, this body of work showcases a significant chapter in his evolution as an artist and reveals the depth of experiences that have shaped his sound and identity.
Over the years, Mbosso has evolved into one of Tanzania’s most reliable hitmakers, not just for love songs, but for authentic storytelling. As a standout star from the WCB Wasafi record label, he has carved a niche for himself as the king of heartfelt Bongo Flava ballads while cementing his legacy with “Room Number 3” – his latest offering.
The project was treated to a successful launch event at Century Cinemax, Mlimani City, Tanzania, which was more than a music showcase – it unfolded as a touching journey of evolution, inspiration and change. Mbosso reminisced about his humble beginnings with warmth and appreciation, then went ahead to introduce the EP as a room filled with beautiful memories and emotions as he encouraged listeners to experience the stories within each track.
The 7-track project was officially released on June 13th, 2025, having each track unveil a different layer of love, vulnerability and life’s unexpected twists.

Each song stands strong on its own, yet together, they paint a vivid picture of a romantic rollercoaster inside the metaphorical Room Number 3. The focus track ‘Pawa’ quickly dominated the charts on major streaming platforms, trending at No.1 on YouTube, Apple Music, and Boomplay, while also receiving massive radio airplay across East Africa.
Within its first month of release, the Room Number 3 EP proved to be a resounding success, topping charts and amassing impressive streaming numbers: over 1M streams on Apple Music, 2M+ on Spotify, 7M+ on Audiomack, 12M+ on Boomplay, and 10M+ views on YouTube for Pawa.
To date, Room Number 3 continues to reign as the No.1 album across all major platforms in Tanzania. Mbosso also maintains his position as the top artist on Audiomack and Apple Music in Tanzania, as well as on YouTube charts in Kenya.
Mbosso’s plans to take the EP on tour started off with a showstopping performance in Mwanza (The Climax) on 26th July, as he set his sights on the rest of East Africa.
